  • Product Introduction

T4 RNA Ligase 2 is an ATP-dependent double-stranded RNA ligase (double-strand RNA ligase, dsRNA Ligase), also known as T4 Rnl 2, that can be used in double-stranded RNAs to make intramolecular looped ligations and intermolecular linear connections. T4 RNA Ligase 2 differs from T4 RNA Ligase 1 (R0502) in that the ligating activity for nick in double-stranded RNA is substantially higher than that for single-stranded RNA ends.

T4 RNA Ligase 2 can also be used for intra- or intermolecular ligation of the 3' hydroxyl group of the RNA strand and the 5' phosphate group of the DNA strand of a double-stranded nucleic acid (RNA double-stranded, RNA/DNA hetero-stranded or DNA double-stranded). T4 RNA Ligase 2 ligation requires the presence of 5' phosphate and 3' hydroxyl groups, which can be a ligation reaction between the 5' phosphate group of the RNA or DNA strand and the 3' hydroxyl group of the RNA strand.
